The global pet market is very prosperous. According to international research firm Euromonitor International, the global pet food and supplies market exceeded $56 billion in 2008 and is expected to climb to $65 billion in 2009. When Central and North America, Western Europe, and the Asia Pacific region occupy the top three in global pet market sales, Latin America and Eastern Europe have successively invested in this high growth rate pet market. Euromonitor predicts that pet product sales in Eastern Europe will double to $2.6 billion in 2009.
